Wearing HIGH HEELS WITH SOCKS The New Trend?

When I think of High Heel Shoes worn with socks, I think of a childhood memory of Dorothy from the movie 'The Wizard Of Oz' clicking her shiny red shoes together and following the yellow brick road...

However, it was a surprise to see in the European Autumn/Winter runway shows of 2010 some of the most famous and luxurious Designer Brands are reviving this look.

Prada, Christian Dior and Armani have each made a statement this season by teaming socks with heels in their latest runway shows.

Not only were this seasons models wearing socks with their designer Stiletto's and Ankle Boot heels but most shocking of all - they also teamed socks with Sandles - previously a very unfashionable look -even for those with a hobo or grungy look!

As the runways of Paris and Milan set the fashion trends for retail chains and fashion designers worldwide, the fashion revival of wearing Heels and Sandals with socks is sure to find it's way onto the shelves of our favourite retail stores in time for winter.

So, if you're fashion forward - and brave enough - it seems like this Autumn and Winter the trend is to ditch the pantyhose and stockings and instead buy yourself some cute socks to colour co-ordinate with either your outfit or your shoes instead! It might even stop your Stiletto's from giving you blisters!
